I'm real proud to have done the layout for this new Album by James Steinle, "Heat of Morning." Heck, I'm just real proud to know James. When I met him, it seemed like he was on his way out of this whole music thing, while I was stumbling into it. I couldn't play a single one of my own songs back then and he was just over the business. We connected purely on the art. I think he got a kick out of how green and eager I was to write songs, and I was happy to be writing tunes with someone I held in such high regard. Through knowing him, writing with him, talking about art, I know l've become a better songwriter. Hell, he's even been picking up a paintbrush lately.
It's just real nice having someone around that deeply impacts my practice that I can talk about songs and paintings with.
As someone that engages with James' art in earnest, I can say that this new album, "heat of Morning" is one of his best. It's an album filled with songs only he could have written. Check it out wherever you listen to music, and pick up a copy of the record in the shop!
