We wrangled our entire roster and brought 'em all out to Nashville for Americanafest! We hosted a "Soggy Anvil X Gar Hole Records" showcase at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge and a "Back in the Garage" showcase at Brown's Diner. We had a blast catching up with old friends, making new ones, hosting shows, going to see friends play, drinking a little to much, getting stoned where we could, sitting around camp fires, going through the cookout drive through late at night, trading songs, filming sessions with Valley Sessions, catching up with my parents, and just spending time together.
We made a movie during our Nashville trip! "Nashville: A Feast For Bums." It's 30 songs, recorded in a lacidasical fashion, with b-roll from our trip. While we were in Nashville, we were watching old CKY and Jackass movies and it occurred to us to make an earnest attempt at documenting music with a similar approach to a skate video. Each artist gets their own "part" most of the audio is direct from the HI-8 camera we were shooting on.
With performances by: Gilbert Louie Ray, James Steinle, Juliet McConkey, Creekbed Carter, Katie Mae and The Lubrication, Cooper Kenward, Dillon Warnek, Dylan Earl, Jack Studer, Eliza Thorn, Holler Choir, Rah Rah Rabbit, Kristina Murray, Luke Pelletier, Cat Clyde, and Jeremy Ivey.
It's the sort of movie that doesn't demand your attention. You can throw it on in the next room while you're cooking, making a painting of your lover, or in the background of a party. It's all in sequential order so it feels like you're on the trip when you watch it.
