Nora Kenny

Nora Kenny

Nora Kenny is a wildcard. Unpredictable, magnetic, and impossible to pin down. A songwriter with the soul of a poet and grit beyond her years, she writes songs that sound like they’ve always been there, just waiting for someone to get up and sing them.

Born in Los Angeles in a house filled with vinyl and volume, Nora was raised on the crackle of old records and radio. The breadth of her influences is clear. Tracing the edges of rock & roll, folk, swing, power pop, and more, she refuses to settle in one sound for long. Much like her self-described “musical North Star,” esteemed British songwriter Nick Lowe, she embraces the range and evolution of her music, speaking enthusiastically about her most recent experimentations.

And with the subject matter of her songs ranging from young love to alien guitar wizards, every song brings with it a new world, somewhere between the folds of our own.

Seeing her live is a reminder of why music matters, why it always has. Her voice doesn’t wait its turn, it cuts straight through. Her melodies don’t follow rules, they move how they want, and take you with them.
