Ronny!

In Summer of 2020, the whole world was locked up. No shows. No tours. No sessions. Mason Stoops, Harrison Whitford, Jacob Jeffries, and Cole Petersen were living together in a house in Pasadena. With the help of their friend, Jesse Honig, they turned their living room into a recording studio and spent the long, aimless, days of the pandemic, writing and recording songs to tape. No rules, just earnest enthusiasm for songwriting. The boys have landed on the band name “Ronny!,” stemming from a never ending string of inside jokes that dapple the recordings. These songs are the product of friendship, isolation, and a mutual respect for each other’s musicianship. They each are musicians in their own right as well as collaborators in many different bands around Los Angeles. They’ll release them as an album, “Downtown California,” on Soggy Anvil Records October 30th, 2026.

Between them, the members of Ronny! individually bring a deep well to the project. Mason Stoops has toured as Jackson Browne's guitarist, and produced for artists including Role Model and Lizzy McAlpine. Jacob Jeffries is a member of Vulfpeck, as well as leading a solo project under his name. Harrison Whitford has played guitar for Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst, and releases music under his name as well. Cole Petersen has been a drummer for band Surfaces and produces lighting designs for dozens of artists, including MUNA and Alex Warren.
